The Balm Voyage, Vol II

dsc03570

Not only does The Balm have amazing packaging that’s a throwback to the days of squeaky clean beach fun but their products are excellent quality. I have to admit I was drawn to the colorful and creative packaging of this all-in-one-palette, but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized how amazing the makeup really is. Here is a look I put together using this palette alone. I combined the color with some brand new Palladio lipstick. Enjoy!

Lipstick Fun!

Blogged while the dog slept on my lap

I recently purchased some new fun lip colors (fun meaning not the muted pinky nude that I usually wear). In fact, I got quite a few compliments in the office for my pop of color. I thought I’d share some of those looks. As you know, I can never just use one, so these are combinations of lip liners and lipsticks.

What are your favorite lip liner/lipstick combos?

My Favorite Anastasia Lip Combo

079080

Anastasia Beverly Hills in quickly gaining a reputation as being more than just eyebrows. The liquid lipsticks and lip glosses have an avid following on Instagram. What pushes this brand to the top is the exceptional quality of its products that fulfill the promise of long-lasting and moisturizing wear.

I (went a little crazy) and bought a couple of liquid lipsticks and an entire set of glosses. I purchased the lipstick at Macy’s and the Lustrous Lip Gloss Set online.

Everyday Glam look

051

I work in a corporate setting, so going crazy with my make up is strictly out of the question. Finding ways to express myself through makeup becomes a bit more challenging. I want to look professional and be taken seriously, but makeup is my oxygen. I take pride in my skills and want to show them off (and I often get great compliments for them).

This is a look I recently wore to work. I took these pictures after I came home (and following a bit of touch ups as my work day is usually 10 hours).

Beauty 35

Beauty 35 is a mom and pop beauty supply store in Midtown, just a few blocks from Madison Square Garden. Most of the products are hair care and they also have wigs. There’s a pretty small section in the front with cosmetics, mostly inexpensive brands. I rummaged through and found some items I’ve never seen before just to try them out.

Christmas 2015 Makeup Look

A few weeks ago, I was enticed by the Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Holiday Eye Shadow Palette. Perusing Macy’s for Christmas gifts, I figured it would be OK to treat myself, especially since it was extremely affordable. The Anastasia eye shadows on their own are $12, so 14 of them for under $40 is quite a bargain. The shadows are great quality, they are extremely blendable and you have an amazing choice to create lots of looks. They are mostly shimmers with very few matte colors, so you have have to reach into your personal collection to create a more defined shape.
